University of Lagos(UNILAG) is now known  as Moshood Abiola University(MAUNI)!Really?

On May 29th,2012,the day set aside as "Democracy day" in Nigeria,we all woke up to the News by the President of the Federal republic of Nigeria ,President Goodluck Jonathan,that there has been a name change of one of the top universities in Nigeria from The University Of  Lagos  to Moshood Abiola University.This is in honour of the Late business mogul,philanthropist and politician; the would have been winner of the presidential election on June 12,1993.

This is indeed a good gesture from Mr President to honour MKO but we can't really say the motives were genuine.

We gathered that certain people are not happy about the name change and the fight to retain the original name continues.Let's hope this is resolved amicable but before then...we still refer ourselves as Greatest Akokites!!!

This is killing two birds with a stone!There were two finales within the last 24 hours-Dancing with the stars and American Idol 2012!

In Dancing with the stars season 14,It was a close call for William Levy,Katherine Jerkins and Donald Driver...But Donald came out on top adding the mirror ball unto his super bowl win!

Mainwhile in another competition-American Idol,the two contenders were Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips.After counting the votes,Phillip Phillips emerged the winner of season 11!(I was moved to tears when i saw a usually cool,calm and collected Phil cry while singing his song)!

Congrats to our Winners!I salute you both;Donald and Phil!

"We actually really, truly have no date," Pitt, who is promoting his new gangster flick "Killing Them Softly," said at a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday. And they're not abandoning their previous position that they would like same-sex marriage to be legalized before they take the plunge. "We're still hoping that we can figure out marriage equality in the states before that date."

As for why, after seven years and six kids together, they decided to get engaged, Pitt said it was all about the timing. "It's just something that makes sense to us," he noted.

Pitt, who was casually dressed for the event in a grey suit and white T-shirt and sported a goatee, said he's flying solo at Cannes this year because Jolie, who is getting ready to shoot "Maleficent," is too busy to attend. "She's actually not here right now," he said. "She's prepping for a movie she starts very soon."

But she was a frequent topic of conversation. Pitt was also asked if he and Jolie, who fell in love on the set of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" when he was still married to Jennifer Aniston, would costar in another movie. He replied: "Yeah, we'd love to." Although it was rumored that collaboration would take place in "The Counselor," it now looks like Cameron Diaz will be playing the part instead.

In Pitt's upcoming crime thriller "Killing Them Softly," he plays Jackie Cogan, who is a professional enforcer called in to  investigate a heist that went down during a mob-protected poker game. Ray Liotta also stars and Andrew Dominik directs.
